ENEL – Marghera | TimelapseLab follows the decommissioning and conversion of the Fusina coal power plant

TimelapseLab will follow the decommissioning and conversion of the coal-fired thermoelectric power station of Fusina, in Venice. The monitoring will take place with two devices for a total of 18 months.

The hydrogen power plant in Fusina (Marghera), which came into service on 12 July 2010 in the locality of the same name in the municipality of Venice, was the first hydrogen power plant in the world of industrial level. The power plant was built as a result of a mixed initiative that sees Enel as a union of the industrialists of Venice among the promoters, supported by the Veneto Region and the Ministry of the Environment.

On 18 October the Ministry of Ecological Transition, in concert with that of Culture, issued the decree for the start of the ENEL project for the conversion to gas of the “Andrea Palladio” coal-fired thermoelectric plant in Fusina (VE). The Venetian power plant is the first among those of the Enel group with plans for gas conversion (the others are La Spezia, Civitavecchia and Brindisi) to have obtained the ok.

Two TLA8 devices will be used to monitor the decommissioning and conversion of the plant, for a total duration of 18 months.
