TimelapseLab follows the launch of the Viking Libra ship

In July, TimelapseLab had the privilege of closely documenting the launch of the bow section of Viking Libra, the first hydrogen-powered cruise ship in the world.  It was an emotional moment that we captured through timelapse images, highlighting the craftsmanship, precision, and innovation that characterize every phase of construction for this state-of-the-art vessel.

From the laying of the keel to the launch of the bow section, every detail was meticulously recorded thanks to two TLA8 devices, showcasing the strength and beauty of such a significant construction milestone. This work has highlighted the high quality of the build and the synergy among the teams involved, where tradition and technology merge to bring to life a project that symbolizes the collaboration between TimelapseLab and Viking.

The arrival of the bow section in Castellammare di Stabia marks an important moment in the history of Italian shipbuilding, as well as another opportunity to capture, through our timelapse devices, the grandeur and significance of this event. Our monitoring will follow the majesty of Viking Libra as it enters the port, bearing witness to the innovation and excellence that define every Fincantieri project.

Beyond representing a step forward toward a more sustainable future for cruises—thanks to construction solutions focused on quality, safety, and environmental respect—this launch also marks an important milestone for our company. Once again, the effectiveness of the TLA8 devices confirms the fundamental role of timelapse technology in documenting and supervising key moments in the shipbuilding industry.
