TimelapseLab will collaborate again with Ecodem, along with VGP and GLS Italy, one of the main Italian couriers, for the construction of the new international logistics center in Sordio.
The start of the works was held recently in the presence of the managers of various companies and institutional representatives, including Salvatore Iesce, mayor of Sordio.
The Mayor himself declares: ‘Today we celebrate an important success for the entire municipal administration, it is source of pride for us and a continuous drive toward quality to have such important companies in the area. We are confident that the new hub rapresents an opportunity that will be reflected in new jobs and in the environmental redevelopment of the area.’
With the new hub, VGP -a pan-European company in the Real Estate sector that builds and supplies high-quality logistic and semi-industrial parks- GLS Italy wants to acquire an increasingly important role in assisting Italian SMEs supporting them with efficient and quality. The new center will become operating in January 2022 and will cover an area of 12,034 sqm: including offices, warehouse and various structures. It is also located in a strategic position, being just 500 meters away from the Vizzolo Predabissi exit in the A58 Milan-Brescia-Bergamo and close to the A1 highway. The Sordio logistics center will offer spaces adapted to customer needs with high sustainability standards, and it will be equipped with photovoltaic panels on the entire roof surface. There will also be 4000 sqm of green area and a project for the planting of various tree species.
GLS Italy has foreseen a further investment of 8 million euros to equip the plant with a high technological and automation standard that will allow it – thanks to the sorter of last generation realized by MHS – to sort over 21,000 packages per hour.
Timelapse Lab will follow the works for 8 months using two TL8 devices.
