TIMELAPSE LAB working again with Savills in agreement with Barings to resume the redevelopment works in Milan, Corso di porta Vigentina 9, which was purchased by the American asset manager Barings, through the Value Add II Italy fund, managed by Savills Investment Management sgr spa. The property is spread over 4 floors above ground and occupies an area of approximately 4,000 square meters.
The experts were instructed to keep intact the structure of the building in Corso di Porta Vigentina 9 signed in 1962 by the architect Enrico Bignoli and the engineer Franco Fasoli and to plan the demolition of the interiors in safety. The renovation of the existing one updates the interior spaces and the facade, providing a new dynamism to the building, while maintaining the structural framework of the original.
The main façade on Corso di Porta Vigentina is characterized by a series of modules rotated with respect to the plane of the façade, each measuring about one and a half meters by three, which multiplying along the entire length of the façade, resumes the scan of the existing structure. The façade module is divided into two surfaces: a glass window rotated in the direction of the Church of Paradise, which thus tends to naturally protect itself from direct sun and an opaque one, composed of an insulated panel in oxidized aluminum with a particular bronze-colored brushed finish. . The project also won Autodesk’s annual competition, the AEC Excellence Awards 2020 in the Building Design category for designing buildings under $ 20 million. (source urbanfile)
