TimeLapseLab

Construction site monitoring with TimeLapseLab is a turnkey monthly subscription: the fee covers the device, installation, data SIM, storage and maintenance. The fee is set from five factors: how long the site runs, how many devices it needs, power supply, connectivity and the software modules you switch on.

What the monthly fee covers

The service is turnkey: you do not buy the cameras, and there are no extra items to add to the monthly fee.

Device

A camera from the TL8 or TLA lines, designed and manufactured in Italy, chosen to suit the site: motorised varifocal lens, marine version, polar version for extreme temperatures, PTZ, or ATEX certified for explosion-risk environments.

Installation

Devices arrive pre-configured and ready to mount, and go up without specialist technicians. Installation and commissioning are part of the fee, not a separate line.

Connectivity

A 50 GB European data SIM is included: the site does not need to provide a network or Wi-Fi.

Platform and storage

Access to the cloud platform on European servers, storage with automatic backup, 4K images, an automatic monthly time lapse video and a daily email with the day’s shots.

Maintenance and support

Device maintenance, remote support and insurance for the whole length of the subscription. Once installed, the devices need no site visits: shooting intervals and settings are adjusted remotely.

The five factors that define the fee

These are the things we need in order to do the arithmetic: without them, any figure would be made up.

Site duration

The fee is monthly, so the expected length of the monitoring is the first element of the calculation. It also drives the technical choices: on a multi-year project, power autonomy and maintenance matter most; on a short site, speed of installation does.

Number of devices

This depends on how many viewpoints you need, not on square metres. A single building is covered from one position; a linear site — a road, a railway, a quay — or a structure growing in height needs more devices, and sometimes repositioning as the works progress.

Power supply

Mains, batteries or solar. Where there is no power, panel and batteries have to be sized on the site’s daylight hours and on the season the work runs in: it is the item that varies most from site to site.

Connectivity

The site’s data coverage. In a city we use the SIM included in the fee; in remote areas, tunnels or inside metal structures a dedicated solution is needed, because the images still have to reach the cloud every day.

Software modules

The features switched on beyond the time lapse itself: automatic blurring of faces and number plates (TL Privacy), vehicle and people counting, weather alerts, automatic progress schedule, gate access reports, image comparison over time, and integrations with site management software.

How we build the quote

1. Tell us where the site is

Location, expected duration, what you want in the frame, and whether the site has power and data coverage. A site plan or a few photos is enough.

2. We choose the setup

From the site data we work out the number of viewpoints, the camera model, the power supply and the software modules that make sense for your case. Virtual site analysis and positioning support are included.

3. You get a written proposal

A single monthly fee, with the detailed configuration and the duration. Response time: within 1-2 working days.

Basic, Smart and Pro: what changes

The three plans differ in what you can do with the images, not in image quality: the device, the SIM, the storage and the support are in all three.

Basic

50 GB European data SIM, storage with automatic backup, 4K images with logo and embedding on an external site, automatic monthly time lapse video, daily email, split-screen comparison between two shots, local weather forecast and European servers. This is the plan for documenting and sharing progress.

Smart

Everything in Basic, plus multi-level access with per-area and per-user permissions, encrypted internal SD backup, automatic blurring of people, number plates and public areas, an aggregated multi-device dashboard with map, weather alerts, an image editor, customisable automatic time lapses, and full GDPR documentation with ISDP 10003:2020 certification. This is the plan for operational monitoring.

Pro

Everything in Smart, plus the features for sites with particular requirements: file storage on local servers with no web exposure or on servers outside the EU (military areas, oil & gas), BIM integration, people and vehicle counting, alerts on out-of-hours access, generation of a single time lapse from several devices with self-service editing, and documentation for LEED certification.

Frequently asked questions about cost

How much does time lapse construction site monitoring cost?

The service is a turnkey monthly subscription, and the fee is set from five factors: site duration, number of devices, power supply, connectivity and software modules. We work out the fee for your site once we know where it is and what the frame has to show, and it comes in writing within 1-2 working days.

What is included in the monthly fee?

The device, installation and commissioning, a 50 GB European data SIM, storage with automatic backup on the cloud platform, remote support, insurance and maintenance for the whole subscription. There are no extra items to add.

Is installation charged separately?

No. Devices arrive pre-configured and ready to mount, they go up without specialist technicians, and installation and commissioning are part of the fee.

Does the fee change with the length of the site?

Yes. Since it is a monthly subscription, the expected duration of the monitoring is the first element of the calculation, and it also influences the technical choices on power supply and maintenance.

What is the difference between the Basic, Smart and Pro plans?

The device, the data SIM, the storage and the support are included in all three. Basic is for documenting and sharing progress; Smart adds multi-level access, automatic blurring, a multi-device dashboard and ISDP 10003:2020 certification; Pro adds storage on dedicated or non-EU servers, BIM integration, people and vehicle counting, and LEED documentation.

How long does the quote take?

Within 1-2 working days of your request, in writing, with the detailed configuration and the duration.

Is it better to rent or to buy the cameras?

With rental the device stays up to date, maintenance is included, and at the end of the project there is no equipment left to manage or resell. That is why the service is offered as a subscription rather than as a hardware sale.

Does the site need mains power?

No. Where there is no power we use battery or solar supply, with panel and batteries sized on the site’s daylight hours.

Tell us where the site is

With the location, the expected duration and what the frame has to show, we prepare a tailored monthly fee with the detailed configuration, within 1-2 working days. We work across Italy and abroad.
