Santa Margherita 11

Ardian and the Santa Margherita 11 construction site : a Green redevelopment monitored by Timelapselab

The building located in Santa Margherita 11 in Milan is under renovation with a focus on  sustainability. The redevelopment project of the property and the surrounding urban area, including Piazza Ferrari, was presented by the Ardian group and is currently in its final stages. The works were commissioned by DEA Capital Real Estate SGR.

The building is located between the Teatro della Scala and the Duomo and is a central point of the city. Its redevelopment, with the aim of making it a Net Zero asset, will be an important example of the transformation of historic urban areas that need to be adapted to new needs.

The works include a restoration of the facade, recovering the original elegance of the historical heritage, to then move on to the internal facade and a glazed courtyard. Finally, gardens and terraces will be the green heart of the entire structure. The union between history and contemporaneity will be the common thread.

As stated by the architect of the project, Paolo Asti, contemporaneity will be both aesthetic and technological with large spaces, fine finishes and organizational flexibility. With a gross area of 6,300 m2, 7 floors above ground and 3 underground, there will also be completely new elements: creation of internal window fronts to expose the building to natural light and the transformation of the sixth floor for office use with the construction of cappuccinos on both sides.

As far as sustainability is concerned, the project meets the highest international standards and aims to obtain the LEED Platinum, WELL Bronze, BREEAM Very Good certifications thanks to the use of highly sustainable materials and technologies, energy efficiency and management systems, geothermal energy.

TimelapseLab has been chosen to monitor this prestigious project. On site  in fact, there will be two of our TLA8 devices with varifocal lenses that will allow  to collect high-quality photos and notice even the smallest details for 12 months. The introduction of a smart and AI-based monitoring system guarantees better communications between the various stakeholders, transparency in the management of the works and an efficiency that is only possible with a modern and technological approach.
